Individual Adult Counselling and Psychotherapy
Offering long and short term individual therapy
You may want to come to talk to me about a traumatic event in your life, or about your feelings becoming overwhelming and more intense or you might want to explore and improve your interpersonal relationships at home or at work.
I offer you a confidential safe and reliable space to explore your feelings and together we can explore how to change things to make them more comfortable.
I am a psychodynamic counsellor which means that I place an emphasis on “why”. Psychodynamic psychotherapy offers the opportunity to explore our inner world and those parts of ourselves that we have needed to keep hidden in order to function in the external world. This approach allows us to make links between our past and present and explore how we can make changes and make our life/experiences more comfortable.
I hope our initial meeting is an opportunity for you to talk freely about what brought you to me, along with any goals you may wish to achieve, and questions you may have about the therapy process. Importantly, you will experience what I’m like and how I work. In turn, I will explain more about my way of working, as well as my policy on confidentiality, fees, cancellations and appointment times.
If we agree to work together, we may then work out for how long – it may be just a few sessions or on an open-ended basis. It helps to work out a time-frame together from the outset, but nothing is set in stone, and we can always review the work as it unfolds.
If working online is the only practical option for you, I’m happy to meet this way too. I use Zoom as my online platform, which I am happy to discuss.
The initial meeting will last 50 minutes and it costs £50 and subsequent sessions will cost £55.
