I offer counselling and psychotherapy to adults who struggle with their emotions, feel overwhelmed by past trauma or recent life events and want to understand themselves and their relationships better.

 

The type of therapy I offer is called psychodynamic which means that I provide a safe, reliable relationship in which to help you make links between your present difficulties and your past experiences and exploring together how things might be able to change, or become more bearable. 

Each session lasts 50 minutes.

 

Most of the time, people come on a weekly basis but sometimes once a fortnight or once a month. We can chat about this together when we meet to work out what sort of rhythm would be the most helpful and the most useful for you right now.

If you want to set a limit on the number of sessions you receive, please let me know. Otherwise it is for you and I to agree as we go along.

The initial consultation is an opportunity for you to talk freely about what brought you to me, along with any goals you want to achieve, and questions you might have about the therapy process. 

 

The initial consultation is an opportunity for you to experience what I’m like and how I work. Over the course of the consultation, I will explain more about my way of working, as well as practicalities on confidentiality, fees, cancellations and appointment times.

 

If we agree to work together, we'll then work out for how many sessions you’d like to meet– it may be just a few sessions or on an open-ended basis. It helps to work out a time-frame together from the outset, but nothing is set in stone, and we can always review as we go along.

If working online is the only practical option for you, I’m happy to meet this way too. I use Zoom as my online platform, which I am happy to discuss.
